Episode 2.01: Summer, Kind of Wonderful (Season premiere) Airdate: September 1, 2008
08/25 - Thanks to The CW, I had the chance to watch the premiere. Here are a few tidbits I can add to the spoilers below: Because of his new dating habits, Gossip Girl gives Dan a new nickname: Playboy. The latter is unable to finish a story, which doesn't suit well with his boss. Chuck tries to get Blair back but things will not go his way, especially when he can't say the words Blair needs to hear from him. Blair learns the truth about her new boyfriend James. Let's say it's a fairtale ending... for now. Jenny and Eric patch things up. The renewed friendship will help Jenny get revenge on her boss. Rufus is still on tour. Dan and Serena have a heart to heart. Source: SpoilerFix.com 08/24 - As the summer draws to a close in the Hamptons, Serena and Nate have everyone fooled into thinking they are a couple to cover up the fact that Nate has been hooking up with a married older woman (guest star [Madchen] Amick) and Serena has been secretly mourning her break-up with Dan. Blair returns from abroad with a hot guy on her arm (guest star Patrick Heusinger), making a very jealous Chuck question his decision to leave Blair stranded at the heliport. Dan has spent the summer assisting a famous author (guest star [Jay] McInerney), but decides to head to the Hamptons to see how things stand with Serena after a summer spent apart. While interning for Eleanor Waldorf's company, Jenny sneaks an invite to a much-coveted Hamptons' White Party at which Eric introduces her to socialite Tinsley Mortimer. Matthew Settle also stars. She even throws a boring grown-up party in the hope he'll see she's serious enough to meet his parents. Let's say the party gets interesting when his mother shows up... Episode 2.03: The Dark Night Airdate: September 15, 2008
08/28 - Thanks to The CW, I had the chance to watch this episode. The night is dark because of a power outage. Look for a lot of action and talks to occur during the blackout: Dan and Serena will finally talk about their relationship and decide if they should be together or not, Catherine will have some pretty convincing arguments to have Vanessa withdraw from the race for Nate's heart, Blair will have a make out session with one of the men seeking her attention, and Jenny will butt heads and bond with Eleanor. Rufus is dating. Source: SpoilerFix.com
08/28 - Serena and Dan are forced to deal with their unspoken problems while trapped in an elevator during a citywide blackout. In a humorous twist, Blair questions the lack of passion in her relationship with Marcus (guest star Patrick Heusinger), while at the same time Chuck appears to have lost his "passion" for any woman other than Blair. Meanwhile, Nate struggles between his feelings for Vanessa and his more-complicated-by-the-day relationship with Catherine (guest star Madchen Amick). Jenny risks losing her internship when Eleanor catches Jenny critiquing one of the Eleanor Waldorf designs. Source: The CW

08/28 - Blair and her "court" interview different girls in order to decide if they'll be included in their little private group. At school, Dan runs into new student Amanda. They bond over their passion for books. Blair and her friends warn Amanda that hooking up with Dan could be dangerous for her health, socially, emotionally and physically. Blair then tells Amanda that she should join her group. Dan, Amanda and Serena meet up later that night. Dan and Amanda continue to bond. Serena won't be alone for long since Penelope will introduce Serena to Jenns, the Abercrombie-Fitch-type captain of the Dalton Lacrosse team. Vanessa wants to have a chat with The Duchess. General Spoilers:
08/27 - [The producers are getting] ready to introduce a new lust interest for Serena, and I hear he's loosely based on some dude named Aaron Rose from the Gossip Girl books. [Wikipedia] describes Aaron as the "herb cigarette-smoking and vegan step-brother of Blair Waldorf and son of Cyrus Rose. He drives a red Saab, and had an un-requited crush on his stepsister, Blair. Later on he dated both Serena and Vanessa, and was accepted to Harvard University." Source: The Ausiello Files

It was hard to hear what they were saying (bunch of d**n mumblers), but Jenny was uber-pissed at Nate, Nate tried to reassure her, Jenny kissed him once and turned to run away, and then he grabbed her arm, turned her around, and the making out commenced. That was about it." Source: The Ausiello Files
